Storage#

Storage docs explain YAML, SQLite, MySQL, MariaDB and backup expectations when supported.

Always back up before changing storage type or updating a production server.

Storage recommendation#

Use SQLite for single-server testing. Use MySQL/MariaDB for production and required cross-server trade workflows. Redis handles live network sync.

Backup checklist#

  • Stop the server before copying live flat files.
  • Export SQL databases before updates.
  • Keep plugin version and server version in backup notes.
  • Test migration on a copy first.

Integrations#

Each integration explains purpose, required/optional status, setup steps and troubleshooting.

Soft hooks load after the dependency is available through Bukkit's plugin manager.
Vault Optional hook

Purpose: Provides economy withdrawals, deposits, prices, banks or metadata through Vault.

Troubleshooting: If balances, rewards or banks do not work, confirm Vault has an active economy provider and that no economy plugin loads after this product.

  1. Install Vault and one compatible economy or permission provider.
  2. Restart the server and confirm Vault reports a provider in console.
  3. Enable prices, banks, rewards or currency features that depend on Vault.
  4. Test one deposit and one withdrawal with a non-op account.
CoinsEngine Optional hook

Purpose: Provides a named currency provider for prices, rewards, trades or shop transactions.

Troubleshooting: If transactions fail, verify the currency id, provider startup order and whether the player has enough balance or inventory space.

  1. Install the economy/shop provider and create the currency key used by this product.
  2. Match the currency id in the product config.
  3. Test a buy/sell/withdraw flow with a player account.
  4. Check transaction logs if balances do not change.
PlaceholderAPI Optional hook

Purpose: Registers or consumes PlaceholderAPI values for scoreboards, formats and external displays.

Troubleshooting: If values stay blank, reload expansions and verify the identifier exactly matches the placeholder shown in this docs page.

  1. Install PlaceholderAPI or the listed placeholder provider.
  2. Install required expansions when the provider uses external expansions.
  3. Use the exact placeholder identifiers documented in this page.
  4. Reload the display plugin after changing scoreboard, tablist, menu or chat format files.
WorldGuard Optional hook

Purpose: Connects gameplay behavior to claims, regions or group ownership rules.

Troubleshooting: If region or claim rules do not apply, check region priority, claim ownership, world names and whether the hook is enabled.

  1. Install the claim or region plugin before this product starts.
  2. Create the region, claim, town or faction area you want the plugin to read.
  3. Enable the matching hook in the integration/config file when a toggle exists.
  4. Test the protected workflow inside and outside the region with a normal player.
Floodgate/Geyser Optional hook

Purpose: Adds Bedrock player compatibility handling for request, GUI or input workflows.

Troubleshooting: If Bedrock users cannot complete the workflow, test the same flow on Java first and then check Floodgate UUID/input handling.

  1. Install Floodgate/Geyser and confirm Bedrock players can join normally.
  2. Enable Bedrock compatibility options when the product exposes them.
  3. Test GUI/request flows with one Java and one Bedrock account.
  4. Adjust confirmation or input settings if Bedrock clients cannot click a specific UI path.
Redis Optional hook

Purpose: Synchronizes runtime state between servers in a network setup.

Troubleshooting: If sync fails, verify server ids are unique, secrets match and the Redis/proxy channel is reachable from every server.

  1. Configure a unique server id for every server in the network.
  2. Set the same secret/channel values on every connected server.
  3. Start Redis or the proxy messaging layer before testing cross-server state.
  4. Test the same player workflow on two servers and watch for sync warnings.
Discord webhooks Optional hook

Purpose: Publishes logs or events to Discord channels or webhooks.

Troubleshooting: If Discord messages do not send, check webhook validity, rate limits and whether the event type is enabled.

  1. Create the webhook or channel integration in Discord.
  2. Paste the webhook/token into the product config if the feature exists.
  3. Send one test event from the product.
  4. Confirm Discord receives only the events you want to expose.

Quick Start#

Complete one escrow trade from request to receipt.

Players should never drop valuable items on the ground to trade.
Start and acceptRun /trade <player>; the target uses /trade accept [player]. Confirm distance/world/mode rules.
Offer and lockPlace items/currency in the GUI, review snapshots and confirm. Countdown starts only after both sides lock.
Commit or recoverCommit creates a receipt; cancel/timeout/disconnect rolls back. Check /trade claims and /trade receipt <id>.

Offer & Escrow Setup#

Make offer, confirmation, cancellation and claim states visible to both players.

A changed item snapshot or failed validation must stop commit.

Player flow#

  1. Send/accept request and inspect both names.
  2. Add items and currency; remove/re-add one item to test snapshot refresh.
  3. Lock only after reviewing both offers.
  4. Cancel and verify every item returns exactly once.

Recovery flow#

  1. Use /trade history and receipt id first.
  2. Open /trade claims after disconnect or full inventory.
  3. Use /trade dispute/scamreport for staff review.
  4. Do not start a second trade to “fix” the first.

Contracts & Marketplace Setup#

Publish contracts/marketplace features only after escrow rollback is proven.

Test expiry, partial fulfillment, blacklist and dispute paths with disposable accounts.
Contract release multi-step trade
  1. Define counterparties, items, currency and expiry.
  2. Test accept/deny and partial offer changes.
  3. Verify commit/rollback and receipt creation.
Moderation flow scam/dispute
  1. Review receipt, snapshots and history.
  2. Use dispute/reputation tools without editing inventory directly.
  3. Document refund or claim result in the case.

Production Rollout#

Protect escrow state, inventory consistency and transaction history.

Back up trade data before changing serialization, currency or recovery behavior.

Go-live#

  • Keep countdown, snapshot and audit enabled.
  • Test full inventory, quit, restart and concurrent sessions.
  • Restrict staff recovery/refund permissions.
  • Monitor rollback and claim queues.

Baseline#

trade: require-lock: true countdown-seconds: 3 rollback-on-failure: true audit-log: true recovery: claim-on-disconnect: true

Operational Reference#

NexaTrade is an escrow transaction: request → both offers → lock/countdown → commit or rollback.

Players should never drop items on the ground to trade. If a session closes, use receipt/claim/recovery commands instead of starting a second trade blindly.
Start and acceptRun /trade <player>; the target uses /trade accept [player]. Verify both players are in an allowed world, mode and proximity.
Offer and lockPlace items in the trade GUI, add configured currencies, review the item snapshot/fingerprint and use the confirmation controls. The final countdown begins only after both sides confirm.
Finish or cancelCommit completes the escrow transfer and creates a receipt. Inventory close, timeout, disconnect, blacklist detection or changed state should cancel/rollback safely.
RecoverUse /trade claims, /trade receipt <id>, history and dispute/scam report flows before asking staff to refund.

Safe baseline#

trade:
  request-timeout-seconds: 60
  final-countdown-seconds: 5
  max-offer-items: 18
  transaction-timeout-seconds: 45
  cancel-on-inventory-close: true
safety:
  require-same-world-proximity: false

Marketplace/contract flow#

For public offers, create with /trade offer create, inspect with /trade offers, accept/cancel by id and verify escrow return. Contracts add a target, currency amount and expiry; test cancel/expire before advertising them.

Common Setups#

Ready-to-follow scenarios reduce support tickets and make the product easier to configure.

Tune durations, limits, prices and permissions with the YAML files above.

Simple Trade Setup#

Define currencies first, then prices, limits, permissions, logs and rollback or recovery behavior.

Safe SMP Trade Setup#

Use conservative defaults, SQLite or simple file storage, readable messages and relaxed limits for community servers.

Cross-Server Trade Setup#

Use production SQL, unique server IDs, shared sync secrets and a controlled Redis or proxy transport.

Marketplace Setup#

Define currencies first, then prices, limits, permissions, logs and rollback or recovery behavior.

Economy Network Setup#

Use production SQL, unique server IDs, shared sync secrets and a controlled Redis or proxy transport.

Troubleshooting#

Start with console logs, config diffs, plugin version and reproduction steps.

The first error in console is usually more useful than repeated follow-up errors.
Trade request not received issue

Check request distance, disabled worlds, ignore/privacy toggles, cooldowns and whether another plugin blocks the trade command alias.

GUI closes and rolls back issue

Look for inventory click errors, blacklist violations, currency withdrawal failure or a storage write rollback in console.

Currency withdraw fails issue

Verify provider balance, currency key, Vault/CoinsEngine hook status and whether the trade requires escrow before confirmation.

Blacklist blocks valid item issue

Check material, display name, lore and NBT matching rules. Custom item plugins may require explicit id whitelisting.

Redis connection failed issue

Verify host, port, database name, credentials, firewall access and the storage type in the generated YAML file.

Receipt missing issue

Confirm transaction logging is enabled and storage writes complete after both players accept the trade.
